Polishing abrasion on car windscreen?
I have a small arc of abrasion on my windscreen from some grit caught under the windscreen wipers some time ago. When the windscreen wipers were used, the screen was wet and the damage was not noticed.
I now need to get a readworthy for the car.... the rest of the windsceen is OK, and I want to have a go a polishing this flat area.
I had a go with a small felt wheel charged with 10 micron diamond past I had. While that certainly attacked the glass, it made the 'flat' aread wider. I may well be able to get rid of the orginal scratch that way, but how do I then polish the glass????
Any help very much appreciated!Cheers,
Joe

It can be done, it is a long process and even the pros end up breaking many screens, if your screen is laminated it is not legal in most states, just break it and claim it on insurance

You need cerium oxide to polish it after using fine abrasives.
