Default Stop a screwdriver from opening car door?

I noticed last week that someone had tried to open my Ute's driver door with a screwdriver through the key lock. It looks like they tried again last night because the lock damage is possibly worse, I think. The car is a 2006 BF Falcon Ute worth all of "multiple hundreds of $$$$" . It has central locking. I can't use the key to open the door anymore, and I don't recall ever actually using the key so that doesn't bother me. But I want to discourage the fools from further attempts, without electrifying the car overnight (I'd forget about it in the morning and zap myself instead ).

Can I do something as simple as drilling through the lock and then breaking the drill bit off without affecting any of the SMART lock blah blah stuff these things are equipped with? I figure that would stop there screwdrivers from getting in there, and also leave them nothing to grab on to.

I really don't know why they don't smash the breaker windows. That way they could steal all my stuff in the car such as my site tape measure and pickles from the Maccas cheeseburgers...

    Cheers.

    Kuffy,
When I worked in Scotland for a year
In body shops no,not that kind the auto kind.
We would during winter do a lock set a week.
That means change all the locks on a car.
Why because during winter in Scotland it gets very very cold,an silly people who didn’t smoke would not heat there door key with there cigarette lighter first before inserting it in there very very cold door lock
An it would snap off [emoji6]!!!!!
    Silly people

So go to Scotland now,an place your key in the lock an snap it off.
But my disclaimer if you do an your remote fails or you get a flat battery,
Don’t blame me an don’t ask me how too break in your car without further damage.

    Cheers Matt.

I've never considered snapping a key in a lock because of cold conditions. That'd suck so bad.

Why would I get a flat battery for jamming something in the lock? And if I did, I would just break the window. It wouldn't be the first time I've driven around in a piece of junk with plywood for windows. Someone broke the breaker window in my VP commodore to get access to the boot to steal my spare tire. Joke was on them because the spare had a pretty decent slash in it! They took it anyway Lololol!

My 2 younger siblings went to Holland with the Parents to live. One of their favourite tricks, was to put super glue in the locks of the (teachers) cars. Don't know if that'll help at all.
I had to break into my VU Commodore ute recently, the battery died, and I've had trouble ever since with the D/S lock, just letting you know.

c'mon, you're a youtuber, get some cred from that crowd, make a wooden "key" and leave it stuck in the lock, and set up a watching cam, then post it online.

You won’t get a flat battery for jamming your lock up,[emoji55]
But let’s just say your battery goes flat because you forgot to use your car for a month, then you remembered you had a car,
But the fancy pansy remote stoped working)because the battery is flat)!!!!!

You would want to go Old school an use your key to open the door too open the bonnet, to let some nice person jump start your flat Bsttery.

If there’s nothing of value in the ute why not superglue a key in the lock.
That way thieves can help themselves to your old pickles but not be able to use the key to start the ute and drive it away.
