I bet they place ads and banners to destroy the story line. Will it become an hour and a half show?

Will probably be like "Packed to the Rafters" where there is an ad break every 5 minutes consisting of 12 -14 ads, each 30sec long. I ended up giving it away, it was so annoying. Fortunately "East -West 101 " is on at the same time on SBS

Every episode from every season and most of the specials are up on the news groups for download. No ads and no cuts. We get the show every week night on BBC-Canada but there are loads of ads and edits. Easier just to download and watch on the computer.

Any decent programme that goes to 9 always gets ballsed up. You'll have 3 minute+ ad breaks every 5 minutes which will stuff the continuity of the story and what Jim wrote above.
Looks like I will be downloading each episode off Search results for top gear - Mininova when it goes to 9, so that I can get the full episode.
(of the TV I watch, 9 is the least viewed. Only programme we (SWMBO) watch is RPA)

When I was home in Jan-Feb I found myself avoiding 9 a lot! Considering most of my days were spent on the treadmill, napping or sitting in an armchair in front of the box I had a lot of time to kill and they just didn't seem to have the programming to interest me. Of course we only had the usual suspects to choose from so Tuesday evenings were a blessed relief when the boys would come on Soccer Before Sex. Over here I think we have around 200+ channels to choose from if you don't count the channels that are duplicated in HD or time shift. Many is the day/night there's simply nothing worth watching even on-demand.

Top Gear is the most pirated TV show in the world, or so it is claimed. Given the number of torrents around I have no reason to disbelieve it.

5th gear is on 7/2 and I'm gradually comming to the opinion it's better than TG, certainly as good.
5G is a car show though, whereas TG was always a comedy involving cars...
The sheila on 5G is excellant. No mini skirts and low cut tops, she's a pro driver with a razor sharp sense of humour, but you really have to listen for the comments.
BTW after years of putting up with second rate PVR's I finally lashed out and bought a Panasonic 350, 250 gb hard drive, 2 HD tuners and a DVD burner. Only had it a week or 2 but it's absolutely the sweetest $800 I've spent in a long time. Topfield is rubbish, my 4410 lasted 18 months.I'm just a startled bunny in the headlights of life. L.J. Young.

I also scrapped my utterly useless Topfield 12 months ago and bought a Panasonic 350.
Easy to use once you figure out the buttons on the remote and great for copying programmes to DVD discs.

I had to watch tv live for nearly a whole week. After a few days of that the $799 for the panasonic looked like really good value.
There's lots of good stuff on fta, you just have to avoid the american sitcoms and the aussies soaps... and the propoganda they try to disguise as news...I'm just a startled bunny in the headlights of life. L.J. Young.
