Do you have any plugins or add ons enabled in Firefox?
Have you tried typing the URL in full i.e. not letting firefox select a match for what you type?
The only way you can get the 403 message is by trying to load a page that does not exist. As the rest of us can get at NeedleBar • Index page it has to be something misspelled or cached somewhere.
Are you attempting to access the site via a proxy server?Geoff

Hi Snowy,
Yep, have tried typing Needlebar, org into Google, still no good. Even clicking on the link
NeedleBar • Index page as per your last reply, brings up the same result. I don't know anything about proxy servers.

Sorry, I'm at a loss to explain it.
It's possible (but unlikely) that your ISP has a cache or proxy that you are using unknown to you and that is cahing out of date information.
Who is your internet service with?Geoff

Hi Snowy,
I'm with Bigpond.net.au
I'm at a loss too, might give it away for now to get some sleep.
Thanks for all your help. Might try a System restore.

I'm with bigpond so it's not a problem there.
You mentioned that you tried doing a Google search and got the same message - this should not happen.
If you type needlebar.org in the search window on the top right of Firefox, it should only list the matches that Google has, it doesn't go anywhere near the needlebar.org website.
Try this again and report what Google returns, perhaps try the same search using YahooGeoff

snowyskiesau's suggestion of flushing the cache is a good idea. Click on the following link to find out how to flush Firefox for Windows (assuming you are using Windows)
How to clear the cache
Ken, if you click on the following link, can you access the site?

This is all interesting, I'm with Bigpond as well, have never visited Needlebar before, so should have no cookies or any cache of the site yet I get the Forbidden 403 as well.
I originally tried finding it via a Google search and then from every link posted in this thread.
So I reckon snowy might be on the money here.
Cheers

Blame Pigpond in Melbourne, if you are with Pigpond & live in Melbourne, it doesn't work.
Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

The site would seem to be at fault in order to get the 403 error but this doesn't explain why some of us have no problem accessing the URL.

Something to do with stored cookies? Have you tried clearing those? The sort of forum code needlepoint is using is notorious for holding onto sessions with cookies too long. That maybe it?
I remember seeing something related to 403 errors and have spent all morning trying to track it down, try this:

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your help. I have tried every suggestion, but to no avail, the problem still persists.
Have got the Needlebar Administrator in the UK scratching his head also.
Will be back this evening to try and sort this out, in the mean time, further suggestions are more than welcome.
Ken
