Address bar help requested please
If you touch the down arrow on the address bar you get a drop down of urls.
Looking at my drop down I have most probably a dozen dfferent addresses but it has obviously been very selective, many destinations are not listed there.
I use the add favourites form for the web sites I most visit.
But why are there only a dozen or so assorted urls on that address bar?
What is the criteria for addresses to be saved on the bar please?woody U.K.

What I have found is if you just go to the address bar drop down arrow it will only bring up the url's that you have typed into the address bar unless you have cleared the history.
But if you begin to type in the address bar it will start to bring up the url's that nearest url that you are typing in the order of the letters that you type; for instance if you started to type www.wo it will bring every address that starts with www.wo and every combination of letters after the initial letters you have typed.
In this scenario it will have the history of every web page you ever went to up to the point of when you have set the number of days to keep the history.

Thanks Bazza, one of those little bits of life I had forgotten over the past 10 years of computing.

If you are using IE, then check your history settings. They are in the 'tools->options' area, but may be in slightly different locations depending on the version of IE. Your history gets deleted after the set number of days after last use.

Here's a handy tip; after years of 'right click / open in new tab', I've recently discovered that if you just click the mouse wheel it does the same thing.
I wish someone had told me that a while back. It would have saved me a lot of time since wherever I'm browsing, I usually open up all links/threads of interest that way, then go through them one by one after I've opened them all.
