Default A Bit To Slow, Me Thinks ??.

    Hi All,
I'm not sure how other Computers behave, but I think mine is quite slow, when starting up.
From when I turn it on, it takes approx. 3½ Mins. to get to My Emails.
Wood anyone out there think that is normal.
My Broadband Speed is very good, I'm told, being :
    Download Speed : 31.67Mbps.
    Upload Speed : 1.97 Mbps.
    Ping : 11 ms.
I like to turn the Puter off at all times, as I keep getting told, " the Puter is still on ".
    Regards,
    issatree.

Three and a half minutes would not be all that unusual from boot to a working desktop.

It all depends on how much cr@p is loading at boot time.

    Something like this:
Download Boot Log Analyzer 1.22 Free - Calculates the time taken to load each driver etc - Softpedia

can help you find out what is slowing down your boot time...an alternative is to put your PC into hibernate rather than shutdown.

    Mine's 12 seconds to google.com

But my old laptop, which has some startup issues I need to address, takes about 3 minutes to get up and running.

The netbook, about 40 seconds and the big box about 30 seconds. Both are Win7.

3 1/2 minutes is too long really, unless the computer is ancient, and was a slug even when it was new.

So, maybe your start up time is normal? More information about your computer (cpu, ram, OS, etc.) would make it easier to assess.

    Default slow pc

    Hello Issatree,

I was having dell laptop. Initially it was working fine but later on after 6 months it started giving problem of slower down pc. I managed to keep it working right by deleting temp files, cookies and disk cleanups. These all are temporary solutions but after one year when antivirus's subscription ended up it again started giving problem then i had to format my laptop n and reinstall the window. I don't think you have major issue. you try deleting temporary files, cookies and disk cleanup. if still same problem persists then you should consider reinstalling windows.
