Blocking online tracking
Hei Guys,
Seems like everytime I look at something online, for the next week every website I use that has ads has ads for whatever it I just looked at.
Any way to stop this or do I have to live with it - I know some sites will not allow you in if you don't allow cookies.
Cheers
Paul

If you use the latest Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox you can block third party cookies and block geolocating in "options" and also install a plugin/addon called AdBlockPlus.
The last will make your Internet browsing a true pleasure. Install it and visit the news sites! There's news there now! Not full page splash overs, side bars that blast into the content and click tracking is mangled. Nasty advertising is a thing of the past.
You can selectively turn it off on trusted sites where the advertising is interesting and relevant, like this site!

Install:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...es/?src=search
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ry/?src=search
Adblock for the ads, Self-Destructing cookies for cookies, and Ghostery for web bugs, pixels and beacons.
Here's an example of the list of web bugs and beacons on one site, as blocked by Ghostery (I've actually had some sites where the list goes on for nearly the whole screen length):
