Since we are talking phone plans I might as well mention what I have.

Vodafone 365. My partner and I are both on this. You give them $30 and it doesn't run out for a year. You get so many free vodafone to vodafone minutes. Since most of our calls are to each other we just pay 25c flagfall and the rest is essentially free. We'vfe accumulated several hundred hours of free time so will never run out. If you happen to run out of credit you just buy another recharge and the 365 days start over, and any unused credit rolls over.

Very simple. Not for everyone, only very light users like us. I do maybe $5 a month on the mobile.

3G amaysim (optus network). I don't use this for calls although you can. $10/mnth gives you a gig. I turned off auto renew because this is my backup internet for travelling etc. You can buy a bigger data pack if you prefer. It's good because you can essentially turn it off and on, leave any time you want.

The woolworths deal is cheaper at 5 gig for $29 but your not allowed to tether, and while some devices will get away with it I didn't want to take the risk.

We hope to go on holidays next month so I'm planning to buy a $20/2.5 gig pack to use while we're away. We'll be looking at real estate so it'll give us access to websites etc.

As I say not for everyone but options I'm happy with so might be of interest to others.

Last purchase was a E71, you've no choice to look what is in the box unless you first BUY it.
When at home I wanted to connect the phone to computer with the supplied data cable.

Surprise! Nokia thought to save some money by supplying a data cable which length is only less than 10 cm.
I called Nokia Australia (lazy idiot people there) and gave my feedback as a customer, the dude replayed and told me to buy another data cable from their catalog!

Nonetheless I hate their stupid protection, you cannot install software, you must go to their web site and they only have crap free software so you must buy from them.

Lots of cloud based services are based in the US, which has a law called the Patriot Act. This allows any US police agency without warrant to access your data. It doesn't matter if you're Australian, if your data resides in the US, then it's fair game.
