Hi Malb,
Thanks very much for your input and yes you were right, I did not know the difference. I am now going to print out your advice and try it. If I still have problems then I will contact your PM. Thanks very much again.
cheers Anne

Hi Malb,
Thanks for your continued interest. I feel I am getting somewhere but I am not there yet. You were right, using the File, New, setting I can set up another copy so I guess the original one is a template. The problem is that the copy is changing the date too. I think that may be because, I need to Untick the box in Options like you suggested. However (and I am really sorry if you think I am dumb but......) I can't work out how to get to the options box you put in. I have printed it out from what you wrote and I tried "control panel" via settings but it was not there. Could you please tell me how to go to options. Also can you tell me how I get to your pm so I could ring you if needs be and if that is ok. I notice you live in Croydon, I live in Nunawading so that should not be a drama.
I look forward to hearing from you
cheers Anne

Anne
You need to be in word with a document open
then it's Tools - Options
if you can't see options when you click on Tools, click teh down arow within the menu box to display all the commands
