    Default Compatibility view problem

I have been on eBay many times selling and buying without any
problems. However, all of a sudden, when I click on "Sell" it brings
up a screen regarding "Compatibility". All other aspects
are showing ok, e.g. items purchased, searching for items. The
    problem is only with "Sell".

I am unable to locate the icon - please see pics attached. I have
tried via "Tools" but the "Compatibility" aspect is shaded low and
    cannot be activated.

Not being a computer nerd restricts my vision to overcome the problem.

    Any clues please.

Install Firefox is the simple answer. Life is too short to worry about Internet Explorer's quirks.

Select Compatibility View Settings and set the view on.

Thanks for trying chaps but no luck so far.

When I select "Compatibility View Settings" it brings up
    a box in which I have Google.com already there. I added eBay.com
but I still end up with the screens shown in the attachments.

The first pic in the attachments shows a broken page (top right corner)
just left of the refresh icon. It does not show anywhere for me to
click on it. It has me stumped.

P.S. I wont confuse the issue too much by installing Firefox at this stage.

Just been messing around a bit further...

I am currently on the forum and if I click on "Tools" it does
bring up "Compatibility View" as well as "Compatibility View Settings".

Still wont work when I tried eBay again.

Speaking as someone who has worked full time making websites: Either get IE10 if your operating system allows it (Windows 7, or 8/8.1), or install Firefox or Chrome if you're on XP.

IE is trying to 'help' you by going into computability mode, in reality it's making your life harder. Also, early next year, any sites relying on chromeframe will stop working for you.

The six forum members who responded to my plea have, by a
distinct majority, recommended that I install Firefox.

I have done this now and am more than happy with the results.

Thank you all for your efforts.

    Adblock Plus now installed.

I particularly like the conversion provisions and the translation
    component is brilliant.

    Many thanks.
