I think John's problem is in word, not outlook. John can you confirm please?

    Cheers

In post 10 he says "All the typing in my email is in bold", however, I have found the whole thread to be confusing so you could still be right.

My feeling is that it is the actual font that is the problem, and that he is set up for one of the really heavy fonts like Broadway or Arial Black.

    Default help with typing

Can you tell me why the whole thread is confusing, I thought it was simple ie in my email I am typing in bold black

I have tried changing from plain text to rich text. In format / fonts and in the fonts box it says arial regular size 12. In Microsoft word it says I have times new Roman.

I changed the text in outlook to times new roman but it still types in bold, I highlight the text and click the B but it only makes the bold more bold.

In Outlook new mail I am using Arial size 12, I am most definately not the best with computers

    John,

I've sent you a PM with instructions on how to start a program called teamViewer. It's a safe, free remote desktop style application. With it I can take a look at your screen and hopefully sort this one for you. Waiting for you PM with the id

    Cheers

    Default help with typing

thank you all for you replys.

andrewr79 thank you for your help

However all seems OK, I spent all day changing settings and in outlook / tools / options / read tab / fonts I changed the fonts from larger to medium, and all back to normal. I do not understand how changing the size of a font has anything to do with typing in bold, nonetheless it worked.

    thank you
