Not an Imac user, but I think you'll have to open each attachment and then copy and paste to a folder on your computer

    Go to your User CP
    Click on attachments window
This will show a list of all attachments.
click on the attachment you want to save, this will open it in a new window.
click on image and drag to desktop.
rename on desktop to whatever you wish to call it.

I don't know of a way to do it without opening each file, but I'm sure there'd be a wizard out there somewhere, but it would probably have to be set up from the VBulletin end.

    Here's what I'd do.

Open the list of attachments in Safari.

Open the Safari preferences in the menu panel that's Safari>Preferences, then go to the "Tabs" heading and turn on the item " ⌘- click opens in new tab"

Command-Click (⌘ -click) each attachment listed on the first page to open it in a new tab in the browser.

You can either drag each image directly from the browser straight onto your desktop, or if you Control - click (ctrl-click) on the image, a menu will appear, the first item is "save image to desktop". I'd use the latter method, as you will whizz through them quite quickly once you get the hang of using the shortcuts.

    I hope that helps!

(Or you could do it Geoff's way, which is the same in less words, but all those windows can get a bit messy!)

    Cheers,

    P

    G'day ptc,
I have an emac, so I guess the same procedure would apply.
    1. Go to your User CP
    2. On the left, under Miscelleneous are "Attachments". Open that section.
    3. This gives a forum link to all the attachments you have uploaded.
    4. At the bottom left of this list is "Show Thumbnails" .Open that.
    5. The list will now include thumbnails of all your attachments.
    6. Drag these one by one to your desktop or a folder on your desktop, and you have your attachments back.
    7. They won't be named..but will all be called "attachment.jpeg"....luckily the 'puter will number them though.
    Hope this helps,

    Watson,

FWIW, if you do it as I have described, you will recover the original file name as well.

    ptc,

Glad you've got it done! I've thought about it, but with 900 attachments to my name, I just wait till the thinking goes away.

    Thanks Biting Midge,
I'll give that a try in Firefox, as I deleted Safari when I went Mozilla.

Just tried it in Firefox.......nope! Bugger!

With or without thumbnails (which are helpful for identification), right-click and "Save Target As" also does a direct transfer. Haven't tried Watson's trick of allowing the compu-duh-r to automatically assign file name/number.

Do what Joe says......PC mouses work on a Mac without change of button functions.
