That would be <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NDIS">NDIS</a> drivers, not MSDOS drivers.

The NDIS specification allows individual network drivers to be used on any OS that supports NDIS. At one time I was using a Microsoft driver to support a NIC in OS/2 Warp Connect. Since wireless network cards are NICs it shouldn't come as a great surprise that someone wrote a Linux driver to wrap the "Windows" driver, though with reduced functionality.

Printer drivers are another matter entirely. HP develops Linux drivers for its products (and the diagnostics disk for some computers I mange boots Linux). Epson helps those who would write Linux drivers. Canon does neither, so if you are considering purchase of a printer or MFC, you need to take special care with any Canon (or for that matter, Lexmark) devices.

Postscript printers are mostly good to go.

I do hope elkangorito has the necessary qualifications to build an electronics system. After all we have a 10 colour code and memories of Black Bobs exploits as a means of remembering them come flooding back. OOh perhaps I'll start a poll as to how many mother boards you stuffed up and perhaps I'll get someone saying everybody is telling porkies. Its great how we protect our own trade but dont give one stuff about another.

I only ever used the NDIS wrappers with NDIS drivers when I was using DOS. Did not realise it was still available in windows.
