Default Lost Restore Point In Vista

    Hi
I am new with Vista and I just to learn about it and I have already some problem. In System Restore, I created manually my Restore Point.
Later when I needed to use that, it disappeared. Can someone tell me why and if there is some chance to find it.
What I supposed to do to protect my restore point from disappearing in the future?
    Its my life

Hi Alstonfered, welcome to the forum.
Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself so we can get to know you.
What sort of woodwork are you interested in? Where are you from?

I don't think you will be able to retrieve your restore point. If you have other restore points available then you could restore back to one of those earlier ones in the hope that it may fix whatever problem you have. It's a good idea to check each time you make a restore point to make sure it has registered in "restore"
There is also the possibility that you may have turned off system restore without meaning to at some time after you made your manual restore point, if so when you go to restore, you wont have any restore points.
Windows creates its own restore points from time to time and usually when you are installing new software.
Another possibility is a virus has wiped out your restore points which is, unfortunately, quite common. Run your anti virus software manually and give your computer a thorough scan, it may pick up the problem if it is a virus. it wont bring back your restore points though.
If you can't resolve your problem by restoring to an earlier date, you may have to bite the bullet and do a complete re installation of Vista. You could try a repair install first.

    Good luck with it.
