    Default network

G'day, my son has win 7 on his machine and we're connected through a router. I can share his drives from his machine and find them on the network, but can't access them.
I used to be able to access his disks when he was running XP. Is there anything I need to do on win 7??
    cheers

On the Win7 machine, is there the little icon indicating that the drive is shared? (see pic)

I just got a win7 laptop and I noticed that when it set up the network, it assigned a password to the machine, nothing like the adminstrator pass word. As yet I haven't tried to access it. Maybe you have to go into the security settings and allow unlimited access on you LOCAL network. If your machines have firewalls and you are behind a router, then this shouldn't be a problem. It hasn't been for me with my 4 machines here at home.

    Hope this is of help

Turn the firewall off on both machines, reboot both machines and connect, if it works and if you have your shares set up properly it should, reinstate your firewalls.
    Hope this helps
