you don't install Instagram on a PC? you can simply view it through any web browser
if for some weird reason you actually installed the app, uninstall it like you would any other program?

I follow about 120 people on my account, and for a few years it has been great. But lately I have been getting a lot of cr@p coming through as well, ads for all sort of stuff that I am not interested in. Any way to get rid of that stuff and get back to just getting stuff from the people I follow ?
Brad.

Unfortunately not, you can temporarily suspend the posts for those who you don't follow, but you will need to redo this once the period expires. The only permanent way to block it is to uninstall the app.

I never really understood why people get so upset by social media sites like facebook and instagram
THEY ARE FREE
but the same type of free that free to air TV is... as in its all paid for by advertising. if you start to realise that 80% of what you see is just paid advertising, through the site, through sponsorship deals etc you just take everything with a grain of salt and laugh at it and its meme's. But the site isn't stupid it... will try and show you what you want to see, to keep you on it, so it can show you more ad's.
but for god's sake just dont get caught up in the conspiracy theory reels and posts. I know so many in the "boomer" generation who are becoming conspiracy theory nutters because they saw two or three reels on Instagram and then thats all instagram will show them

I rarely go on Instagram now because I am sick of looking at the rubbish that comes through my feed.
I just looked at the first 10 posts that came up on my feed, 5 of them were people I follow, the other 5 were from sprukers of medical wonders that will see you throwing away your bottle of viagra pills, and a post to entice you to enter your postcode to see if you can get paid to put solar panels on your roof, etc etc.Brad.

You are right in assuming that everyone on there is the look at me crowd.
That is there way of showing of their work to the internet generation.
They get their work out there as self promotion.
As others have said just look at the work of the ones you like the look of and don't worry about the rest.
If after a while you don't like the way they are going you can unfollow them.Jim Carroll
