I've just bought 2 Asus Google Nexus 7 2013 tablets - one for my oldest son and one for me. These are 7 inch tablets, made by Asus especially for Google. I have an Android phone, so went with an Android tablet. And what a brilliant bit of kit it is. When I first turned it on (after charging it) and connected to a wireless network (I only bought the Wifi model), it asked me to login to my Google/gmail account, which is the same account my Android phone is registered under. Did that, and immediately all of the apps that I have installed on my phone were listed for downloading to my tablet. Then it updated the OS to the latest version of Android - 4.4.2, and within an hour or so I was using it instead of my phone for just about everything. The screen is a full HD resolution, and the device plays any type of media. I bought an aluminium Bluetooth keyboard for it that also doubles as a case - the tablet fits onto the keyboard and the keyboard protects the screen. Pairing the keyboard to the tablet was the easiest Bluetooth pairing I've ever done, and when I sit the tablet in the slot on the keyboard and turn the keyboard on it connects immediately. I already had Quick Office installed, so now I've got a small portable device that allows me to create docs, spreadsheets or presentations on the go. And using my phone as a wifi tether point I can connect it to the net anywhere I can get a phone signal. I'm very impressed with it on the whole. I did a reasonable amount of research before I settled on this particular tablet, and I'm happy with my choice. My one minor complaint is the lack of ports on the device. It only has a micro-usb port and an audio port. The micro-usb is used for charging or for connecting to a computer, but you can also connect an external usb drive or a tv or whatever to the tablet using this port, provided you can obtain the correct adaptor cables. I would have liked an extra port or two, even if they were all micro-usb ports, so that I could connect a charger and an external drive at the same time.
