Powerpoint Help please.
Can anyone tell me if its possible to insert a series of pictures into a series of Powerpoint slides in bulk? or do I have to INSERT PICTURE manually for each slide?
Nothing fancy, Im jsut creating a slide show of an excursion.
p.s. resizing them would be an added bonus too.____________________________

good idea.
Just went through 5 of them, no good.
All very basic so not really clear if it can be done or not.
Only go through the basic functions on the toolbars.
Might look for a Powerpoint forum tomorrow.____________________________

Craig, to the best of my knowledge, no.
One of the quickest ways to get help is to hit F1 and use the windows help. I tell all the staff at school to use it in preference to calling me (IT Coord), and 90% of the time they can find their answer. Don't ask about the other 10%Have a nice day - Cheers

The short answer is no. PPT was designed as a business presentation tool, and is not particularly convenient for photo slide shows (but it will do it, of course). But there are a lot of other programs that will let you make a slide show of photos all at once. Adobe Photo Album jumps to mind.
In PPT, once you have the picture inserted, just select it and drag the corners in or out to re-size (hold down the shift key while doing so to maintain aspect ration).Cheers,
Bob

Forunna
If you just have all your photos in a Folder you can just right click on the first photo and open it in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer and then you can just run it as a slide show by clicking on the forward and back arrows.
Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is a part of Windows XP.
It doesn't matter what the size of the photo is, it will display it in full screen mode.

The short answer is really YES
Check this link...
http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00050.htm
This does not mean to say that PPT is the best for photo slide shows but it does work. As Honorary Bloke mentioned there are other programs out there that do create slide shows. Irfanview www.irfanview.com is a very good photo viewer and can create slide shows.
I used this...
insert multiple images into powerpoint
as the Google search text and had 66500 "hits".
Here are another couple of links - I did not check them out myself.

Click on the link below to get the same 66500 result set as I did....

Well after all that all you have to do is go out and buy PowerPoint 2007 because it will do it with a few clicks.
I just created an Slideshow in Powerpoint with 80 photos in it in less than five minutes.

And so I stand corrected. And not for the first or last time.

That's ok Bob, I didn't realise you could do it in the latest version until I went and had a look. I suppose it's just Bill Gates way of cutting out all other software producers. I know there are a lot of people out there that resent Bill Gates but I think the improvements in MS Office over the years are great.
The biggest problem it just costs money to keep up with it.

Hi
FYI The method I found on the net http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00050.htm works with PPT 2003 (I tried it). I don't know about earlier versions because I do not have them on the pc.
This is from the above linked page ...
The PhotoAlbum feature in PowerPoint 2002/2003 (and the PhotoAlbum add-in for PowerPoint 2000) are free and offer a few features that the other suggestions above don't. But they also have a few drawbacks you should be aware of:
They don't import pictures. Instead, they create rectangles or other shapes, then fill them with pictures. This can cause other problems later (picture links break, you can't crop the pictures and PowerPoint can't compress the pictures the way it can with pictures inserted from file.).
.Kind Regards
Peter
