Default Quickbooks - Weird GST calculations

    Hi

    I have Quickbooks EasyStart 2007/08.

When I create an invoice it does something weird with the GST calculations.

If I invoice $100 inc GST it calculates the GST componant as being $9.83

If I put in $1000 it says $98.29 gst.

The invoice is setup with the default GST 10%.

Tried the tutorials and Q and A's but no luck. Tried the tech line but they want $4 a minute to answer troubleshoot it.

Any Quickbook wizards out there can help?

    cheers

    Dazzler,
dunno, but the few times that I tried to write an invoice inclusive of GST my (older) version did some dodgy arithmatic also. I just do all my invoices as $X + GST and have no problems that way.

Something wrong there. The gst component of an inclusive price is 1/11th and so it should be $ 9.09 instead of the $ 9.83.

    Weird.

I have QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2006-07 & I do all my invoice items inclusive of GST.

If I enter an amount of $100 the GST component is $9.09.

See if you can find a Quicken accredited bod near by.
I use a lady in Cairns who is very good & worth paying for an hour or so every 6 months to sort out any odd problems.

I finally ( after 12 years) ditched quickbooks last year and went over to MYOB Accounting Plus.

MYOB is soooo much easier to use, I wish I had made the transition sooner.

    Thanks all for your help.

What I had wrong was gst was included in the sale in one screen and then not in the other. As each rounded the final figure it ended up double wrong.

    cheers
