re-sizing photos
Just getting over a computer replacement exercise, how does "image re-sizer for windows" stack up for re-sizing photos for posting? Or is there a better, simpler way? Be gentle please..

What Wheelin' said!
Irfanview is a great little package for looking after your photos. It is bug free and quite clever.
When you download it, get the plugins as well for a complete package.

I use image reaizer, and you can't get much simpler. It ONLY resizes pic though, whilst the other suggested programs are complete photo editors, to various levels.

Same as Chris, I use image resizer which is a shell extension and all that is needed is a right click on the picture and you will see the option to "Resize picture" when you click on that you can select a preset size or do a custom resize.
for winodws XP this is one of Microsoft power toys and can be downloaded from Microsoft website but for Windows 7 or 64bit computer you will have to download it from HERE
You can also resize pics in batches using this tool.Reality is no background music.

+1 for Powertoys, just right click with the mouse on an icon and choose the format.
Perhaps you could tell what Windows you have.

I always use the Microsoft Office Picture Manager (MSPM). Right click on the photo file and select Open With... and the program name will be shown.
Once the picture opens in the MSPM, right click, select Edit Picture from the drop down menu, and then you will see a Resize option, and gives several choices, including some fixed sizes for posting.regards,
Dengy

I also use & recommend the MS Power Toys Image Resizer.
You have to find the right one for your version of Windows but they are all out there somewhere.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

The best in my book is a free editor, Paint.Net - just Google for it. This will enable you to do editing and precise file resizing - not just the file size but also the image size. Both are important when posting on line.
