Default Saving Google scratchpad and to do list b4 I reformat

    Hello everybody

I would like to reformat my computer. I am well on the way to saving things to discs. I don't have backup software and I want a fresh start anyway. My computer is still fine, but it's time to give it some air.

As part of the Google search desktop panel I have scratch pad and to do list. I would like to find where I can save the content of these. I have looked in Program Files/Google for some mention of them, but it only has things like clock that doesn't have any of my stuff in them. I also looked in C:\Documents and Settings\Yeebla\Application Data but it only had Google Earth stuff.

I have checked off the option to share it between computers, but have not had the opportunity to look on another computer. And wouldn't that have to have google desktop installed for me to check on it? And if it did work then once I got my computer going after the format would I only be able to access my lists while online and logged into Google?

If anyone can tell me where I can find this stuff on my computer I would really appreciate it. I know I can save them to a text file, but would not be able to get them back in nicely.

Hope this is not all too confusing. I just need a location for the data in scratch pad and to do list.

    Regards
    Yeebla

    Hi Barry

I had a look at that link. For some reason I only have Google Earth in my Application Data folder. From the other info there, perhaps I should get a newer version and hope for the best. I had already looked at the google groups and seen mention of people who lost their stuff even though they weren't meant to.

I'll do what I can, that is save them to text files and then hope that things are meant to work as they should.

    Thanks Barry

If you right click on the Windows side bar it brings up some options and one of them is Notes so maybe it is Windows version of Googles scratch pad. You know that Microsoft likes pinching other peoples versions of tricks and treats and just renames them.
