Thunderbird issue

G'day,
I use mailwasher to check my email and have recently started using thunderbird as my email program and an interesting thing happens.
After I get the mail (in thunderbird) it continues to appear in mailwasher until I delete it from the server (with the help of mailwasher). ie getting the mail into thunderbird doesn't remove it from server.
This didn't happen with Outlook, does anyone know why it happens now?

G'day Mick,

Open up Thunderbird. Under 'Edit' or 'Tools' your looking for 'Account Settings'.

Click account settings > server settings > clear the check box where it says 'Leave messages on server'.

Before clearing the above check box you can also zero 'the number of days'

For good measure, also tick the 'when I delete them' box.

Thunderbird will then delete the messages from the server the next time it logs on. That is every ten minutes or whatever you have set it to.

Don't know anything about Mailwasher, hope the above sorts it.
