    Default Trouble

I am having lots of trouble when typing things into the computer.

Sometimes the cursor disappears, sometime the already entered print will shift and my messages look like gobbldy-gook. Have look at my post in "Have Your Say" ( in reply to Reef) to see what I mean.I often wind up with an emoticon in the text that I have not put there!

Sometimes this box and the printed message will get shaded blue, sometimes this message box and its contents simply disappear or shift to the top of the screen.

It is so frustrating!! Even this message has been a pain to get right.

    Any ideas??

Just posted this and there was the "Thumbs Up" in amongst the text. Had to edit the text. Just had to edit because of scrambled text

I know a good mate who could come round and check it out Arthur

I'd say stop drinking so much Red wine.

    Virus, or similar.

It could also be the keyboard on it's way out.

Try swapping with another, known working one. (Even if you're using a laptop you should be able to plug in an external. )

Here's to hoping it's this simple and not a virus...
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

If its not the keyboard and it well may not be.

I guess you could just try to restore your comp to an earlier date to see if that fixes the problem by running restore if that doesn't work try the following suggestions..

Run your virus scanner Arthur and see if it comes up with something. It sounds to me like a Trojan or virus of some description.
If you find a virus and you have to delete it. After you delete files that may be suspect, it is a good idea to disable you system restore function and close your computer down and then re-boot it and then enable the restore function again.
This will delete the copy of any old files that system restore had backed up which would have contained the Trojan.

There is a little program you can download called "VirusEffectRemover" I have heard great reports of this little piece of software but have had no experience with it but as a last resort, might be worth a go.Can be downloaded from here

Apparently this program will undo the damage that has been caused by any virus or Trojan to your system on your computer.

Arthur this could be a difficult one and may need drastic measures to fix the problem but maybe some of the other guys here can come up with a better solution for you.Good luck with it.

VirusEffect Remover is a free download and is open source software but has good feedback about its effectiveness. Sometimes these programs are worth a try if all else fails.
