    Marios, are you using FireFox on your ubuntu?

    It should just work, I've used it for ebay and netbank without any problems. Have a look at your prefs for javascript, it should be allowed for those sites to work.

    yeah linux is great, abit more nerdy than Winwank but with the apps now avilable its a great option. I have used it for years in the past both at home and at work and for servers as well as desktops.

    For anyone with enough computer oomph to get it up and use it, good on ya...its a better world, until you wnana run photoshop or other standard apps...

    Default Open Source Software in General

    Just a thought for all the fence sitters who suspect that the open source software is somehow inferior to bought commercial stuff, and hence the more you pay the better the software.

    I have no way of knowing, maybe someone who does will tell us.

    I suspect that what we are looking at here is a derivative of the open source Wikipedia type software.

    I would also make a guess that it the enormous amount of data contained on this site and that is handled so fast and efficiently, is running on Linux based servers.

    The web as we know it would not be a shadow of what it is now, if we didn't have open source software, mostly developed on Linux.

    How many of you are viewing this on a Firefox type browser?

    These developers are (extra)ordinary guys doing what they love and enjoy, and sharing their knowledge with others. Bit like us really.

    There are many companies running Linux of one sort or another I have read that NSW state Gov has gone total LUNIX for its servers, politicans probably got the savings in their pay packets.

    Linux is used by many major animation companies

    Check out autocad user groups also.

    I am stupid for not getting into it when it first appeared back in the 90's still not loaded on any machine.
    My biggest fear is having to teach LOML how to use it I guess.

    ubueat runs its mainserver on win and the forums run onlinux

    We use Linux for all our web servers. Our Database servers are SQL Server so they run Windows.

    I tried to run Ubuntu in Virtual PC on Vista however ran across a problem with the mouse not being recognised. I found a fix for it but haven't tried it yet.

    I am a mac user now, but I will always like Ubuntu. I definitely like linux on a server. Its the only thing I run on my web servers.

    Downloaded the latest UBUNTU ISO now this is where in the past I have had trouble burnning it to CD.
    I have Nero 6+ or Ulead's burner softwear both of which will burn ISO.
