I must be going mad or just plain senile..

Bought a 16 gb USB from the local PO and installed my operating system on it...

Pretty dumb but I do run Linux from a usb hard-drive since my wife knocked a cup of tea over my laptop..

I use her laptop or our desktop(both set up for her and kids) to usb boot off them and that way I don't have the stress or lack of speed of windows..

Not that this would interest most but it means I can use ones computer without touching what they have and also no virus issues..
Also if I have a day where I loose my marbels and fix someones computer, I'm able to boot up and check there harddrive if they can't boot up or even recover stuff..

Not that I have gone nuts enough to do that for anyone but my closest friends(I may be mad and stupid but i'm not totally nuts yet)..

Anyway, what the usb has on it..

Ubuntu(because I am now too lazy to use a distribution that requires thinking)

Its 12.04LTS (for those that know, good, but for others the 12 is this year and 04 represents the month, LTS stands for Long Term Support)
Ubuntu isn't hard to use and can be installed by one with a little skill, but you do have to know that it can cause a loss of data when installing if you make a mistake, so if you want to try it, use a cd/dvd live disc or install to usb first and try it then..

Its easy to use, just don't think "its not windows so where is everything", better just think it's a different desktop to normal, out of the box windows, like when kids use themes and have scarry monsters for the start button and lightning strikes for when you left click something(you could do that with linux too if your young enough)..
I did set up a linux box for a friend, that had the windows theme, he use to set people up by telling them its linux then turning it on.. No one guessed it wasn't windows, they always had to be shown..

Anyway, I must take my little white pill and disappear before the smilly monsters get me..
