Get rid of the Windows 10 ad?
How do I remove the annoying Microsoft ad recommending that I upgrade to Windows 10.
I friggin don't want to upgrade, Windows 7 is perfect for me.

Ken,
There's plenty of information on the web regarding how to "opt out" of the Windows 10 Upgrade, even though Microsoft have chosen to not provide the users with a simple way of opting out of the Windows 10 upgrade.
The following link takes you to one of the better explanations, and provides some background explanation, as well as three different ways of "Saying No to Windows 10".

Out of the many posts on the web regarding this topic, there seem to be absolutely no official posts from Microsoft on this subject, so if Microsoft is really keen to migrate everyone off Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 onto Windows 10, then they will probably at some time in the future find a way to over-ride whatever opt-out method you choose, so I'd expect the Upgrade to Windows 10 message to return at some time in the future as Microsoft push even harder to get rid of all those old versions of Windows.
