    Default Windows Live Messenger Prob

Yes, I downloaded the latest version.
It wiped out all but 5 of my addresses in the address book. But there was a way advertised to retrieve them. You must first log in. It won't let me log in.

But you can look for help. When you look for help you find zillions of other poor
bu%^ers with the same problem and no answers, just blog stuff. And zillions of entries from when you last looked. All with the same problems.

It says to wait 4 hours and try again. I've waited 24hrs and no go. Of course there are no phone numbers or e mail addresses for help.

Anyone got any ideas on how to contact these Windows Live messenger people?

They (whoever they are) knew this would happen to people's computers and there was no warning. It's like they have deliberately sent a virus.

Can't you do a "restore" and go back to your old version?

    Default Puters I hate em

    Hi guys,

if you are running win 7, without a lot of grief you are stuck with live essentials.
However you don't have to use messenger and you don't have to sign in to wlm if you don't want to. I just got the basic mail thingy and not the rest, you can choose.
You can uninstall essensials if that is your problem and do something like thunderbird.
