NZ Ride
I have posted these photos elsewhere but I can recommend this ride out of Dunedin, New Zealand. leave Dunedin and ride out along the Otago Peninsular. There are cafes along the way for those who want that and at the end is a restaurant/cafe at the Albatross colony.
Out and back 75km, mainly flat, some of it is on dedicated bike track. I can't guarantee the wind direction or the weather but for me it was excellent.
Hire a bike from Cycle Surgery $40NZ- when you get back it is $32Aus.
This is a one day alternative to the Central Otago rail trail ride (4 days).
(BTW happy Rhododendron day to all dunedinites for Sunday 17th October.)
And the name of the fishing boat is : ..................................

I haven't got up the courage to put a bike in a bag yet. I have a mate riding from Christchurch to Dunedin. If you were hiring it might be cheaper to buy a cheapie in that case.
Nothing like your own bike though.
