witch,
There are a few nice titanium models around to match those staples. I think you get the idea that most enjoy riding the carbon ones now.
Enjoy the looking.

Jeez, I was 10stone 10 lbs when I was at my fittest, and that was at 19yrs. I just did the conversion to metric and it's 68kgs.
I am now 106kgs and 52yrs. But I have lost 5kgs so far this year, since I have gotten my new CF bike.

carry pine
I am interested in CF but I believe there is a tendency for the material to crystalise at stress points over a comparatively short period with resultant breakage without warning.
I am presently trying to get information on the recent developments in this field as I have had chrome moly frames break on me on the rough roads that we raced on around the old liverpool-heathcote (sydney) course and green valley circuit.
When I rode my first Goulburn-sydney race there were still 17miles of dirt road and a water crossing to contend with and I have the scars to prove it.
The roads up here in Queensland seem pretty good but although I am not an off-road fanatic and certainly not interested in the knobbly tyres that they use, I like a bike that will stand up to whatever rough roads may be encountered on a 3 or 4 day ride.
Titanium would certainly be an option but I have bought small components in titanium that cost arms and legs and I shudder to think of the price of a bike, of course I will look into it further, but my beautiful wife might be a problem with this sort of investment.
I still have the need for some shiny new equipment in my shed and if I get too greedy I might be called upon to explain why I should not be looked upon as a silly old bugger
and shipped off to a nursing home prematurely.
best wishes to all the bikers on the forum

Hi Witch 1,
I would be talking to a Bike shop of good repute, about your concerns.I can't remember where Cinnamon Park is, but the Yellow Jersey on Brisbane road near Sizzler after Big W at Booval, you have Troy the owner, and Ryan Bailey, that are very knowledgeable.
