In NSW at least, it is illegally overpowered - roughly 200 watt maximum for electric drive bikes or it must be registered as a motorcycle. I think there is a speed limit in some states too that is pretty low, well under 20kph.
Otherwise a neat way to spend $6000 or so.

The current model being developed in NZ is speed limited....40km/hr I think.
I foresee problems with legality of the machine in different countries and within different parts of the same country. At the moment a majority of pre-run orders have come from Europe.
The price is not cheap but alot of R and D has gone into the Yike Bike and it's a small scale operation at this stage. That said I know quite a few cyclists who happily spend $6000 plus on push bikes.Whatever note you blow youre never more than a semitone away from the correct one....(Miles Davis)
