    Thanks Mike

    Its a weird one
the 130ah AGM battery was 1 month old at the time, and would normally only be discharged to about 12.9 static/12.6 under load after a nites running and still have enough juice for a 2nd nite/day and so on

I'm thinking of simulating the driveway thing again, but in the meantime its all working fine

    cheers
    Hodgo

    Hi Beardy

    CF40 fault.

your fault is symptomatic of a temperature sensor fail, or a sensor connection problem.

I don't know that CF40 at all, but the generic tests are to measure the resistance of the sensor (disconnected from the frig) to be probably 10K ohms.
I could be wrong about that value, but it is a common value.
Then check the connection of the sensor to the controller.

Sorry but that's all I can suggest.

I am not aware of its ability to be repaired.

    Good luck.

I have read that some people use eBay or similar digital temperature controller when they have faults like this. Would be checking the temperature sensor first as Mike48 suggested

Default My fix to low voltage cut-out due to wiring resistance...

I bought a CF80 second hand recently. On my second trip an unusual issue came up... It worked perfectly on 240volts, but on 12 volts, it would start and operate for a few seconds then the compressor would cut out, the screen would go blank - it basically looked like no power except the fan would run for a few more seconds, then the screen would come on and it would repeat the same process. It did the same on emergency mode.

After testing voltage at the Danfoss controller, I found it would drop to 9v, after a few seconds and thus cut out. So I created new cabling. I put a 50amp connector on the unit, and used 100A cable to connect to the cars 50A connector. Now it works perfectly...

    Here are some photos...

    Hi all,
Can anyone provide a solution to the following problem with CF 80 Fridge / Freezer?
I recently took ythe unit out of storage and the following happens:
    1. Temp set at -6,
    2. Green power light is on
    3. When temp reaches -6 green goes out and replace by orange after about 5 mins. (compressor off)
    4. Then power is automatically turned off.
    5. I've tried both the 2vov via 12v adaptor and directly to 12v battery
    6. Both the same results
