Aldis crazy tool prices
From Thursday 17th Feb:
VAC LINK It's not a shop vac but it does have twin HEPAs
What? $30? Even if it got you out of Gaol for six months....
Digital Vernier This is clearly the same as my $60 Lufkin
Ten please
Could be very useful and I'll bet it works quite well
How could you possibly go wrong?
Cheap WD-40
I wonder? even if you didn't trust it under the car it could be very useful in the shed
...and so on
I purchased a $50 Microwave oven at Aldis six months ago and it's a cracker!
I can see what's going to happen....come Thursday morning there'll be a bloody great queue of people covered in wood dust outside every Aldis in the land!
Regards, Brett

I think the trick with Alsi is to sort the utter crap from the merely cheap... I have a couple of items - digital calipers (they work fine ), a shop vac desperately in need of a new filter but dows the job ok, I bought some running kit (not the shoes, they're plain dangerous to your feet) and they've been fine. On the other hand, a home Cat5E networking kits was complete and utter rubbish. Cable was junk and so were the connectors (have since used higher quality components to good effect), though the crimper was ok.
There's a new aldi near my house that seems to have trouble working out its volumes at the moment - usually plenty of nifty stuff left when other stores are empty
Cheers,
Dave

Most Aldi stores put out the bargains starting on the Wednesday - sometimes even before lunch time - I know, I've picked up some of the 'last' items at my local store mid afternoon on Wednesdays.
Generally only the high cost items go out on the Thursday morning - such as desk top computers.
So, if you want some of those tools, be prepared to go around Wednesday afternoon & go back Thursday if they aren't out yet.

I got the Vernier too and no problems. Also got the Plane which is great.

This morning, sale day at Aldi was a non event!!!
I thought of buying a digital vernier caliper for the advertised price of $19.95. After searching in vain, I realised NO calipers were delivered. I confronted the store manager, who confirmed my disappointment.
It makes you wonder why they advertise a product in the first place. The easy part is to run an add, the hard part is to deliver!!!
Cheers, John

That's the first time I have ever heard of Aldi not having the advertised goods come in. Seen several cases of goods selling out very quickly though.

You may be a little harsh on them there John. Trucks can break down or whatever. They didn't have the Vices in the Katoomba store, but they told me to give them my name & number, and they'll call me when they come in. I do understand your disappointment though,
Got the cyclone vac and it's a corker. The hose is a little bit flimsy and a foot or so too short, but hey, what do you want for a hundred bucks.
NOT ADVERTISED:
They also had a set of either 4 or 6 paint brushes for $10, looked pretty good, especially for rough work or oiling etc. Two s/s magnetic trays and two magnetic bars $10. They must work because it was quite difficult to prise the the packets apart!
Got the jack, I mean I got a jack, but can't comment yet except to say that it's bloody heavy.
Right, back to the lawns
Brett
