This morning at 6am I went to see my daughter-in-law play the Last Post on a headland overlooking a small lake just down the road from where they live. The lake is about 300 meters long and 150m wide with about 50 houses surrounding the lake and a footpath that runs through parkland around the lake edge.

There were about a dozen groups visible showing lights or candles around the lake shore but there were many more sitting/standing, some with their dogs, in the dark. About 30s before 6am a noisy plane went overhead so she had to wait for it to pass. Suddenly the first few notes of the Last Post burst across the water - very haunting and very moving.

This is the 3rd time my daughter-in-law has done this totally off her own bat. She then had to rush off as she plays lead cornet in a brass band and they will be in todays street parade.

I took a video but unfortunately you cant see much - also it doesn't help that she's dressed all in black!
She's standing right next to the brightest light on the LHS of the frame

I built this Honour Board for our local community to include the names of men from the district who were overlooked when the original Honour Board from 1919 was made.
Records were incomplete at the time.
It is made from NSW Rosewood and includes a time capsule in the box section behind the words Roll Of Honour
All of the mouldings were made using hollows and rounds
