ANZAC DAY REMEMBRANCE 25th APRIL 2021.
ANZAC DAY REMEMBRANCE 25th APRIL 2021.
Another year of LIGHT UP THE DAWN.
This year I remember the supreme sacrifice of my great grandfather Harry Fourro killed on the Western Front in France in October 1917.
Also my two grandfathers who fort and survived WW1, one awarded a Military Medal for Gallantry Under Fire and of course my dad who fort in WW2.
We Will Remember Them, Let We Forget.

The local RSL here have organised a 12 hour vigil by the scouts and other youth groups from the area from 6 tonight until the dawn service tomorrow which we will attend.
My wife will be laying a wreath on behalf of her Probus Club at the mid-morning service.
We must never forget the sacrifices made by many.Tom

Just got back from our local Dawn Parade. It seems that every year more and more people make the effort to attend and the turnout this morning was fantastic.
Last year, due to Covid, we had to abandon the usual service but there were masses of people who got up at the break of dawn to stand at their front gates. It was a great to be able wave and call out to your neighbours in the middle of lockdown and check that everyone was OK and see if anyone needed assistance as well as to commemorate ANZAC Day.
A nice touch this year was the number of local ethnic communities who attended to lay wreaths at our local memorial.

All our local Dawn Services were cancelled due to compliance issues with government health gathering restrictions and regulations.
Light Up The Dawn in your driveway was promoted as per 2020!
Sadly I seemed to be the only one in section of my street.

Hi Doug. We were a little more fortunate. Our local sub branch had both the dawn service (at our ANZAC memorial) and the morning service (on the village green). My wife sung beautifully at both and having a piper play in the misty forest before the dawn service was pretty inspiring. Spent the rest of the afternoon at the RSL catching up with the local community. And it didnt rain!
