The International Conference and Exhibition on the Art and Joy of Wood is holding a photograph competition to celebrate the art and joy of wood.

Contributions should depict wood's character and its vital place in people's lives, conceptually and artistically, focusing on one or more of the following themes:

- Living with wood: either as an artistic object or something more functional, wood surrounds us everywhere and is an integral part of our lives. What is your interpretation of " living with wood"?
- Working with wood: From large scale manufacturers to artisans and hobby woodworkers, wood is used by numerous people for a variety of purposes. Show us how you can see "working with wood";
- Wood as never seen before: Wood's character is protean. It is versatile and is used in so many different ways. But wood is also unique - no two pieces of wood are identical. Be a designer with your camera and show us "wood as it's never been seen before".

Participants may submit up to three photographs or a photo-story (4-8 photographs plus some text). Winners will win a trip to Bangalore and will be invited to receive their prizes at the Award Ceremony during the conference at the expense of the conference organisers. The deadline for competition entries is 15 July 2011.
