Seems like I got lucky, two of my laminated bowls or hollow forms got an equal first in their category and one of the two laminated platters tied for a first in that category.... You think I am a bit chuffed????

Stingrays et al
Ken, welcome to the forum. Don't get me wrong, I admired all your entries and have done so in previous years as well, Cindarella's Coach is a remarkable piece and i would hate to think how many "test" pieces were needed or how many hours it took from first thoughts to completion. It just isn't to my taste.
Now the stingrays, perfectly graceful and would love to be able to make such pieces. I guess a practicuum on the pieces would be giving away the trade secrets huh?

The last piece in 's sequence of pics was just gobsmacking. I'm normally unmoved by the pierced painted pokered parade of precious pieces but in this one the technique served rather than overwhelmed the creative statement.
Cheers, Ern

Was there this arvo to check it all out. No luck involved PP. Very nice pieces. I see they also sold quite well. That will save on return postage won't it?
That coach thing was a lot smaller in reality, and a lot nicer. Very dainty, and princess like. Not ugly in the slightest. :eatmyhat:anne-maria.

I entered this exhibition for the first time,so my entries were in the novice section, they included a laminated buildup, a bowl, and a platter.
They won 4 firsts and a 2nd including best Acacia, and best novice, another woody said ( I'm chuffed ).
Credits must go to the organisers of the exhibition ,the woodies for the quantity and quality of work displayed and the businesses who donated a huge amount of items for prizes.
thank you Whitehorse Woodturners Inc, made my day John.
