    Default The Bendigo Swap.

    Hi to you all,
    Well what a great day it was. Weather could not have been better.
    Found a car park about 300 M. from Gate 3, & away I went.
    I had a few very nice buys, well I thought I did.
    Extremely large crowd, great for the gate takings.
    Ended up about 28Deg. with a nice breeze coming across the ground.
    Some very sun burnt people around.
    Hoping to put up some pics, if I can work it out again.

    I too managed to find some goodies at the swap meet.
    I could have gone mad there thhis weekend, actually, but for the limited resources....

    I found a few goodies (among some well-prized needed bits and pieces): 2 reversible thread tapping heads - one a No.1 Archer (up to 1/4" capacity (first picture), the other a Nr. 3 Gem (German or Swiss made, possibly by Suhner) with a capacity of around 10mm or bigger (3MT arbour - second picture).
    They were pretty rusted and decrepid (last picture), but cleaned up inside and out and lubricated well and function perfectly.

    I was amazed at the amount of industrial tooling available on the swap meet circuit this year. A lot of Australian manufacturing must have bitten the dust recently.
    Lots of used milling cutters, threading tools, measing and precision equipment at great prices - alas out of my reach....
