You're doing a good job of Benevolent Dictator Sir

23rd August 2008, 09:51 PM #36The benevolent dictator is obviously overworked, my pm's following your instructions about forum switching have gone unanswered
It was done a week or so ago before your last pm, just had a look and I'd forgotten to press the big red delete button. Doh
Should be right now. If not log off and back on again or try a hard refresh.

Neil
I never thought it was about me, i dont think i'm that important, it was a tongue in cheek post that i thought would get more response than a histerial denial, or screaming match.
Sit down have a drink and go fishing for Sunday, You have earned it from the great improvremrnts/changes over the last month or so.
Yes i do really appreciate the effort of the Mods & yourself. I also dont envy your job either.
Cheersregards

Thanks Neil it is working now. I liked your first reply before you put the PS in which makes me look like a complete sh*t. I sent you a pm as per instructions, nothing changed, I waited... knowing you are very busy. I sent a further respectful pm just asking if there was an oversight or something. I waited. Nothing changed. I gave up. I asked Watson if he might be able to help and he was on the way.
You seemed to be watching this thread so I thought I would have a friendly jab in the spirit of this thread. I'm probably one of the least troublesome users here, if you want me to look like a complete sh*t it's up to you, it's your forum.
Cheers

Why not? There's no reason what so ever why you shouldn't post in this or any other thread. Might even water down some of the speculation of others. Especially seeing as how some seem to think it's about you, when in fact it pretty much has nothing to do with you.

Seriously? Neil & Calm? so who's faulty is it? talking about special treatment for "mates"...!!!!. Who provoke who? how many people does actually know what happen? how many members do you believe, have seen my last and important post on the thread in reference, on the few hours (3 or 4) the post was available for viewing, before it was removed by an moderator? Maybe a couple!
Well, just because you're worked so hard Neil, to have me coming back and say something, I' not going to say what you would like to hear, nor I believe your constant "rock throwing", are of any help to assist or resolve at least one case I'm aware and interested about, the thread of Calm using and altering my own pics to advertise publicly, timber that was stolen from me a week prior, with a interesting intervention of his "cousin" as a main player in the whole story. By Calm own admission, it was all a bad joke based on the "spirit of the Aussie unique sense of humour". Does anyone have an idea how many people have totally destroyed their life's based on this 2 edged sword? is it acceptable that some people thing that they can get away with murder, being racist, discriminative and bluntly stupid, hiding behind a "myth"?
Make no mistake, there is a unique and characteristic sense of humour, very special to some genuine Australians, and in some situations, characters and personalities are created based upon this "dark Aussie humour" well embedded in the mind and soul of certain Aussies. Now, there is a big difference between that Aussie humour, and the humour used by Calm, and so that everyone has a better understanding of the differences and possible consequences, allow me to tell a true story that happen to a friend of mine in November 1990.
This friend did arrived in Sydney from overseas with his wife of near 11 years, looking to start a new life. Within days this friend was offered a job with a fellow that had the same Nationality but has been in Australia for over 20 years. This fellow was married with a true Aussie woman and leaving a very Aussie life style indeed. In no time this friend and wife were invited to one of his weekend barbeque's. You know, snags on the barbie, lots of everything, inclueding grog, consumed by the gallons. The group size was about 20 or so, most of then related in blood and work (trackers), I will say the typical rough ruts Aussie people. The friend ex-wife couldn't understand or speak much English but my friend, he managed alright. Being the new ones in the group and with the language (slang) barriers they all were well aware, the jokes start flowing one after the other, and this friend of mine was starting go get upset with the content of some of them, and nearly flatten a couple of guys that were going a Little too far. This friend of mines boss, was watching from the distance but did nothing until he realised that something wasn't right. Calling this friend a side, his boss explained about this "Aussie humour" thing, and basically said that was a totally innocent behaviour, very common everywhere in Australia, because they were new in Australia, they would learn, understand and see the funny side of this so famous "Aussie humour" in due time. In the mean time he recommended my friend to just smile back and play a long, and to not take any notice of the words used, as it was all part of the "joke". This friend of mine, didn't wanted to create any problems with this people, so after a quick explanation to the wife, they all get back in the table. When everybody was seat at the table, they started to ask all sort of questions to the new arrived friends, and certainly in conversation, my friend did mention that they had no kids in the 11 years marriage, mainly due to problems in conceiving. This bloke got up and said " "what? all that time? mate, is something wrong with you mate, I will drop in some time, I will do the job right for you!" My friend was ready to drop this idiot on the spot, but his boss got up quickly and said " do you remember what I said to you about the Aussie jokes?, well this is it mate, this is the (special way of Aussies making jokes), he means nothing, is just the way they are!"
My friend then trying to play the game said, " sure mate, not a problem...!"
As far as my friend was concern, that was the end of that "party" and they left home.
My friend explained to the wife was did happen, and she didn't take very well either.
Anyway, the next day at work, my friend did express his concern about this so called "Aussie Jokes" to his boss, and after some acute argument, it was decided that if that was the "normal" behaviour in this barbeque's/parties, my friend didn't wanted to have anything to do with it.
The following day, there is 2 days after that barbecue at the bosses place, that idiot that made the big joke about "dropping by", he did indeed drop by when I was at work, over-powered my friends wife, and raped her.
The Aussie joke cost to this idiot 20 years jail (is out in 2010) he's got a visitor waiting. My friend lost his wife of near 12 years, as no longer she wanted to stay up here, so this friend of mine was left on his own, all because of that special "Aussie joke/er". My friend spent the next 13 years on his own, trying to find the origin of this so called Aussie sense of humour, so that we could understand and maybe accept what happen. All those years searching for an answer, and many thousand of hours reading and talking to anyone that did have any knowledge in the subject, did not provide any acceptable answer or explanation. Actually according to a couple of Judges that dealt with plenty of cases based on this believe (Aussie sense of humour), they stated that in no situation should this be used as toll to provocation and deprivation of liberties of individuals, nor should be a cover to hide one's inhibitions.
So, I'm sorry if I don't take well these sort of jokes, regardless from whom they come from. For those that thing they are just innocent jokes, think again.
I understand that I have a limited and mild sense of humour, and that was been hard work, but I make no excuse or apology for the way I react to these sort of un-called provocations, or in your view, a good all Aussie sense of humour.
I did hope that the issue was put to rest days ago, I did say then, and I do say now, this is everything but funny. I did not initiate any of this, and I think appropriated to request that you end it!
Cheers

mic-d - Sorry Mic PS removed. Should never have been put there in the first place, but you caught me in the middle of some of crazy sheeit with the wrong friendly jab in the wrong place, at the wrong time and unfortunately you ended up being the poor bugger who copped my final spray before I turned the puter off in disgust.
I apologise to you unreservedly. It wasn't meant to make you look like a sh*t but to defend my own rude and unexcusable lack of reply to your pm and others.
Cheers Neil________________________________________
RBTC - Man... you need to stop when you say you will.
You know.... NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT YOU. Including this thread or at least it wasn't until you made it about you instead of the forum in general.
That was over and done with last week. You got your apology. The rest was a waste of space and time. Let it go and move on.

Dear RBTCO,
You are right when you say you have a limited sense of humour. I saw the Original thread, but I didn't see the offending post. From your description, it sounds quite funny to me and I wish I'd thought of it. Onya Calm.
RBTCO, take a deep breath. A few altered pictures are not the same as a rape. I truly hope you can tell the difference.
Neil, life is too short, mate. Tempest in a teapot.Cheers,

For you to make asertions that i am getting preferential treatment from Neil, who is someone i have met once and only then for about 10 minutes - and i have never spoken to him on the phone, is slanderous in itself.
You need to get over this whole episode and move on, as far as i am concerned it is in the past. Maybe if you can't let go you need to reconsider if you want to belong in a public forum like this. Dont take that the wrong way i am not trying to tell you to p%^s off i am saying that being part of this place seems to give you greif that you dont want in your life.
As for the rest of your little story, i am sorry that it happened but that has nothing to do with aussie humour so don't even try to make a connection between a criminal act and a joke i made on the forum.
Neil and the Mods do a great job and dont need you, me or anyone else making their UNPAID job any more difficult.
If you want everyone to read your last post (which i didn't even see on the forum) i am happy to have it put back up, then you run off to the cops, solicitors and wherever you else you want to go. BRING IT ON - i'll play your silly games so go for it. George.
The mods will probably delete this post - so i am sorry if i have caused them more work but frankly George i am sick of the whole episode so go for it.

Robutacion, you are a bloody idiot.
I don't give a damn if Calm posted pics of someone raping a pile of stolen wood ... you need to look in the mirror and breathe deeply until the steam stops coming out of your ears.
I wish it had been ME who posted the message and pics that set you off, because I would have told you to "BRING IT ON!". I know you ran whining to the police, and I'll bet London to a brick that they humoured you just to get you out of their front office. I've also got a feeling they've probably got your picture posted behind the front desk, with the words "HUMOURLESS WHINGING TWAT!" written over it in thick, black pen.
You want to talk legal mumbo-jumbo? There was stuff in your second post in that "stolen wood" thread that bordered on racial vilification. You look like The Marx Brothers compared to that bunch of rottweilers ... you're lucky that other people reading that thread had a firmer grip on reality than your own, or YOU might be the subject of official complaints.
As I've said to you before:
"GET A LIFE!"... as long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation. (A.Hitler)
