Default My blog, with free downloadable plans and articles on jigs and furniture

Now that I have discovered a site (Mediafire) that does free web hosting for all types of files, I have set up a blog on Blogger http://rockerswoodwork.blogspot.com/ from which people can download free copies of plans/articles for jigs (morticing, morticing lite, tenoning, and box-joint) and furniture that I have designed. So far, the furniture plans are for a CD cabinet, and a zigzag chair with bridle-joint joinery. I hope to add further articles from time to time.

I hope that other members who have written articles might consider making them available by saving them in .PDF format, uploading to Mediafire, and then linking them to their blog. It can all be done these days without any requirement for knowledge of html, and it costs nothing.

    Rocker,

What a great thing! Well done, although if I may offer one wee tiny eensy criticism:

Wouldn't the pic of you have been better if you were standing beside the chair and the caption "Rocker off his rocker"?

It's a great idea, I hope others follow suit in due course.

    Cheers,

    P

An excellent resource, Rocker. Many thanks indeed for taking the trouble.

    Dingo,

The rocker plans are available on PDF - see the first link in the list of links - but not for free download. You need to send me some of the folding stuff and I will send them to you. Everything else on the blog is free, though, and I intend adding more stuff in the next few weeks and months.

Well done Rock, but I do agree that an 'off my rocker' comment would make it just a little more 'honest'

The site looks great, top stuff.

    Great blog Rocker.

Just a small point, the link to the Lite jig seems to be broken, when I try to download it it comes up with a "not found on this server" message.

    Like the CD cabinet.

    Big Shed,

Thanks for the heads-up. The link to the Morticing jig (lite) is now fixed; and the link to the blog is now included, with permission from Neil, in my signature.

That's great, Rocker! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, it is much appreciated. I'm off to the shed to build me some jiggedy-jigs.
