EDIT: I should have added the construction of these chisels makes them quicker to produce, hence the lower price.
Having been on a few Batch orders, quite a few people on the board know me as DJ's Timber, I do understand what is involved and what delays might be expected.

So from here on, I'm just gunna lay it out plain and simple.

Lots of threads or posts on this board have been made regarding Trent's abililty to supply said goods and I'll also admit I have been guilty of this but Trent seems to do it on a regular basic.

I would love to purchase a set of chisels from him, but declined to do so, as I couldn't buy them upfront.

So, in saying all of that, yes I'll buy a set of 7 with the promise that the 50% deposit will be refunded if said chisels aren't delivered within expected timeframe or the monies will be held in Escrow with conditions attached.

    Otherwise I'll look elsewhere.
    Cheers

I understand Acco's concern. I have been waiting for over two years and can not get H&S to answer my emails.

I have just heard from Trent and am very pleased with his response, both from a business sense and delivery point of view. Just need to balance my previous comment.

Brett, you didn't answer Acco's question.

Hmm, makes me wonder is that because you aired your concern here?

Only because I prefer not to jump in half-cocked. I'm about to do some more research, and I'll come back.

Furthermore, it takes some time to generate a diplomatic response to DJ's "wording", in particular the last line - and the words just ain't coming. I will say this though:
This thread should not be used as a receptacle for complaints on other issues.

There is of course one sure way to scuttle any chance of a revival, and that is to continually cite the past when I have already explained that if there is a good sized run it changes the playing field parameters. Continued sniping is completely counter-productive to achieving this because it could well give potential buyers the jitters, and so they won't contribute to the size of the run. Therefore the run is smaller. Etc, etc in a catch 22.

There was another fairly similar post a couple of days ago, but at my request the poster very graciously deleted the comments.

I hope that is very clear, but I can make it clearer if need be.

I have just spoken to Trent fairly breifly (as he was out), and he tells me that he hasn't looked at the forum this morning. He received Bob's email and responded to that.

Bob, perhaps you are able to verify that, with the times of the emails? If they coincide with the posts then that won't prove anything one way or the other.

It is unfortunate that this has progressed to this point. The tone of Trent's email was such that I did not believe that he was prompted by the forum. As mentioned, I am very happy with how my order is being processed. The only reason for my original entry was others were expressing concern over H&S delivery times and I felt that, as a forum member, I should make others aware of my experience. No point in sitting on the sideline and seeing others go through a similar experience. Having said that, I believe that H&S's biggest problem is not keeping customers informed of their order progress when asked. I was not concerned by the waiting time as I was aware of long delivery times when I placed the order. I only became concerned when two of my emails had not been responded to. As mentioned, having communicated with Trent I am very satisfied.

I'm surprised to hear that over 2yrs you have not had a response.
I too have emailed him in regards to my order that he hopefully has in the works,I guess I have just got to be patient.

    Cheers

I can't understand the concern re the delivery times of the H&S chisels. Yes, there have been delays in the past. I think you will find that if you actually speak to Trent he will give you a straight answer. Sometimes that might be that he is waiting on the heat treaters. Such is life.
I must confess that I am a fan and convert to the quality of the tools of all the Australian Tool Makers in this group buy.
I'm the user of some lovely tools made by Trent, Colen, Terry and Chris. I can tell you that they all make great tools that are world class. Each will always go the extra mile to make the reasonable customer happy. The ETA for the tools will vary depending on how many of us jump in and buy. I'm putting up my hand for some more chisels, which is funny when you look at how many I already have.lol.
Just jump on board and join the group buy if you can and support these great blokes.

I've been druling over these chisels and I'd have to say I'm not one to spend this amount of money on a chisel but swmbo has said I can have two. So I'll take a gamble that these are half decent and up to standard and be in for two. Sizes not known just yet but half inch defently.

Mate, I've never seen any post on any forum around the world that questions the quality of the H&S chisels. They are some of the best in the world and many believe them to be the best.
I'll pull my head in now.

It is almost funny that no other seller involved with this GB is coping as much flak as poor Trent!

I've called him numerous times & found him super helpful. He's spent heaps of time with me answering my questions. I've got no issues with buying from him...ok so we might have to wait a while for our products...would you rather buy your chisels from "the big green shed" or an expert?

Thanks kevjed, yes I know they are the best thats why I'm going to buy two as I can't afford any more but wish I could. I once had a look at them three years ago at the TWWW show in Brisbane, boy were they nice chisels but I just could not afford one. Now thanks to this offer I can at least get two. We all got to start somewhere.
