Default Calling for Volunteers - Forum stand at Sydney TWWW Show

    Calling for Volunteers!!

The Timber & Working with Wood Show will be on in Sydney on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 17-19 June 2011.

I love coming to these to shows, I love talking timber and tools, and I love meeting Fellow Forumites, and prospective members. I've found that one of the best ways to do this, is to be on the Forum Stand at the Show.

I can't be on the stand all the time over the 3 days, there's just too much timber and tools calling for my attention so I'm asking for volunteers to help out at the Forum Stand for two hours at a time. We need a minimum of 2 people on the stand at all times, preferably 3, if possible. I haven't heard yet how the stand area will be set up, but it's likely that it will be very similar to last year's set up, i.e. backing on to Ubeaut's stand and the Forum Lounge area, with a computer set up showing the Forum online.

The Forumites who helped out last year had a heap of fun talking with each other, talking with anyone who was interested in the Forums and watching the Torque Workcentre Demos across the way. It isn't hard, in fact, it's a whole lot of fun.

Last year we worked out entry for Forum Stand Assistants, and it is likely that the same system will work this year too.

So, please register your interest in helping out by posting in this thread.
    Cheers

    Jeremy

I'd like to help out this year but I'll only be there on Sunday so lets say 10am to 12pm at this stage on the stand.

    Okay Gents,
I've been enjoying the forum, both with all the helpful blokes & ladies, plus contributing were I can.
I get so much enjoyment/ relaxation out of my toymaking / woodwork.
So as a semi-retired bloke with a little spare time, how does this work please?
I could come on the Friday for a few hours, but where is the show?
    Cheers, Crowie

Crowie Fox Studios old Hordon Pavillion.

You'll need a back pack for tools you buy to take home, money of course keep an eye out on the forum for when tickets are available.

    The rest is easy.

    Oh Everything Exhibitions & Events!
    Thanks Wheelinround,
I thought it might have been at Homebush.
I'll have to try to work out how to get there and home safely.

Thanks guys for putting your hands up to volunteer.

In about a week or so, when we have a few more starters, I will start putting a roster together with contact details etc as well as details concerning how you get entry to the Show for free when you turn up!

Once again I am going to try to have two members on the stand at any time with one position changing over on the hour and the other on the half-hour, so we will have some continuity and also no-one should get left there too long if someone gets stuck in traffic or falls sick and can't make their time. So the stints will be in one hour blocks, with a stub position for one on the stand at the beginning and the end (which I will probably take so I can do set up and tidy up (at least on Friday and Sunday)).

If you want to do your stint with a particular member, let me know (and make sure they let me know they are volunteering and they want to be with you) and I'll see what I can do.
    Cheers
