Classes on building a rocker near Caboolture, north of Brisbane
I shall be running weekly classes on building my Maloof-style rocker, starting on August 30th. The classes will be limited to a maximum of three participants. Participants are required to buy my rocker CD and to bring their own timber; they can use my workshop machinery, jigs, and formers to carry out the more critical operations, but will be expected to do some of the time-consuming work, such as marking out, glue-ups, and hand-tool work in their own workshops between classes. If you are interested in attending the classes, PM me for further details.

Great offer Rocker, I would love to attend as I have your CD and did plan to make one, your guidance would be ideal. Unfortunately I have other commitments and the timber I was planning to use is also still drying in the log form.

Put me in for next year with Neil that way you can make two engineers get off their proverbials and each make one
I am too busy getting organised at the moment for space in the shed to take in the lathe then learning how to use it.
Can I do the domino version - yes? Why work harder than I have to BYO Domino of course
I will just buy and use the jarrah as you suggest. Keep my moving a lot river redgum for other home projects. Having said that I did like the gum one Mr Wongo made - have a year to sort that issue.
Sounds great Rocker - thankyou.Cheers

Teejay,
I will probably start the next set of classes in April, when it has cooled down enough for comfortable work in the shed. Would that suit you? And Neil? Yes, we can make the Domino version then.
I held my first class yesterday with just one pupil, and we got a surprising amount done in the session - milled the timber to thickness, and cut out the back legs and routed the mortices in them.

Sounds good. I think I will limit the class to you two - Trevor and Neil; if any others want to attend, I will have separate classes for them.
