I have to agree with you regarding the shipping costs being excessive. They seem significantly inflated.

Well I know Juergen isn't adding anything on, I get the same or very very similar results when I do it on the UPS website.

I tried the DeutchePost site (they have a partnership with DHL) but couldn't get a price from it.

    More ideas please!

4 to 6 kilos brunswick? For all that - are you sure? If that's the case it would have been driven by the volume, not the weight, and $150 sounds pretty good.

Yeah mate... 4 kilos was being very conservative... It was easily 6+kg's

I looked at their site and the international courier fees are very reasonable indeed. The same mob charge A$142 delivery on any of their SCMS's

Sadly, only ex-UK, but could be useful for another project I have in mind!

What we need is someone like that in Germany. I might try emailing them to see what they say.

Maybe Juergon can send them to a Parcelforce depot in the UK and then they forward them to us? Its worth looking into. 168 quid for 30+ kg's is bloody good value

    Question

Your cheapest option mentioned works out to about $56 each + local postage to split the parcel up according to my calcs. By the time you do local post you might be best to send the 47 parcels directly to each person ? Probably cost about the same and no GST issue then?

    Kiwibrucee.

Hmmm. That's definitely a thought Bruce. Sending 47 parcels is substantially different to what I told Juergen I wanted, so he may want a small handling/packing fee, which I would probably even suggest to him, in the interests of fairness (yeah I know, he's dicked me around bit, but the drills and the dough are both in Germany - let's call it insurance!).

I'd like to find a German site such as ParcelForce, and take it from there. Hopefully I might get a reply by the time I wake up tomorrow (although some say I'll never wake up).

Anyone who wants to search for a similar mob in Germany is welcome to!

How big and how many KGs is the single parcel?

The prices quoted do seem rather high...

ETA - a 31.5 kg packet sent via DHL to Zone 4 is 115 Euro. A 5kg packet is 40 Euro and 10kg is 55 Euro. (from DHL Paket International)

Even if you sent 10x 10kg packets via DHL, you'd still only be at 550 euro (A$740).

    I'm confused

It would be great to have the drills sooner rather than later, but the prices quoted are a bit rich.

If there were multiple parcels sent via sea freight, we should not have to pay import duties,gst.etc.. and there would be no need for someone to pickup, repack and post on to the end receiver.

Please keep us in the loop before making a decision.

    Cheers

Well done Stu, that looks pretty damn good. Wouldn't you think that the DeutchePost site would have a link to this (or at least a link that can be found - easily)? I mean ter say, DHL is only their business partner fer cryin out loud!

In the absence of other better suggestions I'll pursue this with Juergen and also by email to DHL Paket (there are a lot of options there to be cleared up). Seems to me that this might be a good option for Juergen across the board because they have pretty good discounts for 300 parcels per year.

Stu - how did you find out about this lot? Certainly didn't come up in any of my Googles. Or is it one of the best kept secret thingys?

    Cheers, FF
