Received the rest of my order - better late than never - which would have been the case if I had been managing it ! Two thumbs up for Bretts persistence in seeing this through - deserves a medal

You are welcome Brunswick. Easier than us driving accross country.

And so an end draws close for the Cobolt order, for the first batch anyway. Crazy FF is contemplating another one though. Tis a braver man than I.

    Cheers

    LAST DRILLS DELIVERY

I spoke to Juergen on Friday night, and with the exception of 10150600 Pen Drills, he should have everything to send this week. He expects delivery of the wooden boxes for the Countersink sets on Monday 12th December.

The list of outstanding parts, according to my records is as follows:
10700306 Metric Countersinks (Groggy, Ivorbigdeck, NeilS, Talorien, woodie2)
    10701814 Imperial Countersinks (Groggy, FF)
    10700215 15mm Twinland (Ivorbigdeck, woodie2)
    10800131 5 pce Imperial MaxiCuts (Jack_E, KiwiBrucee)
10800132 10 pce Imperial MaxiCuts (NeilS, yorki)
    10800118 1” MaxiCut (stevew)
    10453225 320 x 25mm Auger (wood_fit)
    10453219 320 x 19mm Auger (FF)

Juergen was working off the top of his head when I was speaking to him, and I will send him a confirmation email before he finishes packing the delivery.

I must say that despite all the lack of communication from Germany, the deliveries were pretty accurate. We ordered 836 parts, and one was not delivered as per delivery note (and has been sent already with 2nd delivery). There was one RotaStop missing from Forstner sets. I know that it was looking like some packages had gone to incorrect receivers, but it was more a case of a few parts were in the wrong packages. There was a huge amount of excess parts sent to me from one of the nine deliveries, but in fact the delivery was correct from the German end and only became confused once it reached Australia. It didn’t help that the packaging on some Twinlands showed slightly different part #s (eg. 10700212 was labelled 10700012). However, even though the same labelling errors were in all other packages containing 1070 drills, they were still distributed correctly. I guess that was because the descriptions of these were the same on the Delivery Notes, packaging, and also the lists that I sent to the receivers. Not too hard at all really.

If there is anything else missing, please let me know as a matter of urgency.

This brings me to the problematic package from the first delivery in August, and those who have been affected by it. It has taken an extraordinary amount of unnecessary work to get to this point, as everything had to be worked backwards from the delivery notes, lists of shortfalls etc. This would have been much simpler had a list of retained parts been forthcoming, but despite 7 requests in 89 days, no information was sent. When it finally did come, it did not match my end, with only 1 from 16 retained part numbers matched up. This resulted in even more detailed analysis required. It was only last week that I got to the bottom of the missing 10601812 set (Talorien’s), which had been missing since August. This situation also resulted in 2 unnecessary Exp.Posts bags (to send the excess on a short holiday), and they have also been charged. A request to send all the (presumably used, by now) drills back to me for a refund was denied.

    Those who have been affected:

    Talorien:
10901016 was on the Delivery Note, but cannot now be located. It was not declared as “undelivered”, and nor was it sent to me as excess. I will replace it (hopefully with this delivery)
10601812 You now have this. There was one delivered and you should have received it months ago. It was inadvertently kept (although not ordered), and the matching sequence (not a set) of Imperial bits that were ordered were sent to me as excess. The have been sent back, and the extra set has been charged for. This of course leaves me one set short (yorki’s – see below).

    Ivorbigdeck:
10700216 & 10700018 x2: were all on the DN, but cannot now be located. Not declared as “undelivered”, and nor were they sent to me as excess. I will replace them (hopefully with this delivery).
You have now finally received the other 6 missing bits from your 1070 sequence, which you should have received months ago. They were inadvertently retained as ordered, when in fact they were not.

    Yorki:
10601812: I had one of these sent to me as excess and you are short of one of these. I sent the spare to Talorien last week, and will have to re-order one for you (hopefully with this week’s delivery).

    FOLLOW UP ORDER:
I will be announcing the follow up order very, very soon. I will be making some changes to the way the parts are collated in Germany (will be much simpler), and I will have everything sent to me (or to someone nearby for me to collect). I will not be paying for parts that have to go on back-order (unless it’s only a very few), and packages will be able to be freighted as they become ready (i.e. a box reaches its weight/$1000 limit). The troublesome wooden boxes are being replaced by other packaging, which will save significant $freight (the boxes weigh more than the drills) and should also eliminate delays. If a lack of boxes (of any kind) threatens to delay then I will have the parts sent sans box, no questions asked.

I can confirm that the 5 stars cut very fast and aggressively. Was drilling some 10mm deep stopped holes in the back of some table stretchers, using a depth stop collar on the bit. The collar slipped, and the bit went straight through the rest of the stretcher before I could even blink

Have just spent the last 45 minutes making a new stretcher, complete with tenons.

Should I ask what Stu is short for? Perhaps not.

The new range of Maxicut plus (with pilot drill instead of a brad point) also has a Depth Stop collar. I wonder if they could be adapted.......
