Donations gratefully accepted.
Below is a letter I received asking U-Beaut Enterprises for help. It has probably been sent out to many different businesses.
We at U-Beaut are already well over extended with our donations and sponsorships for this year and can't really afford to do anything towards this other than put the letter on here and see if the members would like to donate to help this program.
If so you can make a pledge in this thread and I will collect the payments and donate them to the school in the name of the members of Woodwork Forums along with a list of contributors.
This seems to be a pretty worthy cause and maybe one worth getting behind. If the interest is there I will let this run until the end of April.
Cheers - Neil

As I said above, we're already way overextended with our donations/sponsorship for this year, but I'll start the ball rolling with a Bunnies Gift Voucher. Was going to give it up for a Prize Draw but this looks like a slightly more worthy choice at this point in time.
1st Donation:
$50 Bunnings Gift Voucher
Any others want to have a go. Doesn't have to be big donation, there are a lot of us and a lot of little donations can make for one really good, big donation. If you wish to make a small donation and want to remain incognito send me a PM with your donation and I'll keep it quiet for you.
No amount too big or too small. Maybe a donation of timber, screws, glue, paint or some other finish might also be acceptable. If anyone wants to donate something like that please let me know and I'll see if it is appropriate.
Cheers - Neil

Ok Neil you got me. I'm a sucker for kids and woodwork. Got 2 of my own and they enjoy a lot of freedom in the workshop.
Send me some details on how to get my $100 to you.

After exchanging PMs with Neil, I have contacted the school and they are happy to take some excess screws that I was recently given.
If any one else wishes to donate materials, etc, it is probably best to contact the school direct to ascertain whether the suggested donation is suitable to their needs. It will also save Neil the hassle of doing that.Tom

Kudos to the principal for asking for donations to this worthy and worthwhile cause but I manage to make do with my public high school woodwork budget of only $2000 and I have 100 students from Years 7-12 most years! What are they planning to make with the students? Can they sell items to become mostly self-sufficient after the first year? Surely their material costs would be less than mine? Please don't think I am against this initiative but it would be a shame if the program ended due to high running costs and the requisite repeated donations in future years.
Donations to CAG's high school gratefully accepted! (Mostly joking; give it to someone who needs it.)
