Ethical advertising?
Hi Neil.
Received notice in the mail today to go to post office to collect package, & low and behold, it was from U-BEAUT ENTERPRISES, the prize I won in the raffle.
The postmistress said to me as she brought the package out “This smells fantastic. What sort of polish is it?” (She’d obviously read the label).
Was this an advertising ploy? The smell I mean?
I explained about the wood turning ect & the different types of polishes you produced. She may well be another customer for you as she wrought down the web address from the package, saying “It just smell’s great”.
If this is an advertising poly, it’s working.
As I left with the package I wondered if, “No” I said to my self, “It always smells that way” as I put it into my now sweet smelling car, got home, undid the package to find green tinted foam packing, a lot of which had melted and stuck to the invoice and jars.
Yes, one bottle of Polish Reviver had broken and gone through the lot.
But not to worry, it all cleaned up OK and I’m very grateful for the prize and what I’ve received.
Don’t know about the advertising though?
With many thanks.
Chris.

Bloody Australia Post!. That's why I hardly ever use them. Seven parcels through the post this year. One got lost, and yours is the third one with a breakage. They would have had to drop kick it for an hour to break one of those bottles. Bloody useless bunch!!
250 or so (much bigger and more fragile ones) have been sent through our freight company Star Track Express, and so far only 3 breakages with them. Bloody Australia Post
Lucky you got more than you bargained for eh.
Cheers - Neil

I hate to feel the odd one out but, I've sent heaps of stuff out all over Australia and the World by post and can only say good things about the service from the Post Office. The only time I've had any trouble was recently when US Postal Service at Austin Texas crushed a set of chuck jaws (it was insured so didn't matter too much).
I have however had heaps of damages to goods on road transport, I like most truckies but gee some of them are rough with freight, howabout this, a broken bed casting on a Teknatool, headstock broken off a Woodfast by a forklift tine, Jet lathe totally crushed hardly a single part left usable, box of chucks and lathe accessories lost for three months when it finally showed up my address and the senders were both found to be correct and legible. These are just some of the major ones, lots of minor damage to parcels happens all the time, Aussie Post however continue to deliver goods to us in good condition and on time.

Hi Neil
Sorry to hear you have had troubles with Oz Post. We have had a pretty good run. Star Track Express (formerly Discount Freight) still owe me big time. They once lost, found, lost, found, then lost for good $500 worth of Rock maple. On todays market that would be worth about $10K. C'mon dollar!! Anyway, we used to send cupboard doors with them. They were bubble wrapped, fragile stickers everywhere and even on special pallets at one stage. Four out of five comnsignments would have damage. The Canberra Branch Manager @@#@$%&^%#@ did inform me that road freight is a "robust" form of transport! If you read the con note, nothing is ever ever their fault. I have since used other freight companies with mixed results. It very much depends on the size and type of package it seems. I guess we will all have to struggle on. My two bobs worth.
Bye all
Shaun.

Hi Shaun
We used to use Discount Freight once.
We ended up calling them Discount Fright.
