    Default Exasperated by FWW - Try Kreg

    Taunton Press has at least the defense that they are relatively small.

    Try finding away to get help from Kreg Tools. Seriously knowing how insular Americans can be I allowed for the possibility that they thought we spoke German given that we are the birth place of Hitler. Whilst in the US I was told how good my English was but the best was an American lawyer who wanted to know if Australia was a democracy. He knew I was pulling his leg when I said we had a constitution, federal government and state governments, federal laws, state laws and federal courts and state courts AND ELECTIONS [he couldn't work out where the lie was but only the USA has those things so I had to be lying somewhere]

    Allowing for the Austria/Australia thing I tried coming from Canada and then the UK still no chance.

    Kreg are happy to take AUD or any other currency but not willing to provide a service to anyone that doesn't live in USA. Mind you if they gave a rats behind about any customer outside the US they might provide screw selectors in the system used by every advanced country bar one.

    In Kreg's defence I had a stellar customer experience with them a few years ago. I called them on the phone, explained the problem and had more than I originally asked for a few days later. I wanted to modify their flip stop and needed a few bits and they sent me complete flip stops instead no charge. From my reading of the US fora the domestic customers think they are awesome. Americans do seem to have a limited perspective on the rest of the world but so do a lot of Australians that don't travel.

    I had awesome service from them. Needed a part for their router fence that I stripped the thread of. Sent them an email, sorted, shipped for free (free part and free shipping), and was with me in Sydney within a week.

    I can't comment on their customer service because the only thing that ever goes wrong with my pocket hole jig is it keeps running out of screws.

    It isn't fine joinery but gee when you just want to get something fixed or built quick it's a wonderful gadget....
