Forthcoming AWR book on Australian furniture designers
The Australian Wood Review plans to publish a book next year on Australian furniture designers, and is calling for submissions for inclusion in the book. The Editor sent out the following email to people who had submitted entries for their Studio Furniture competitions, and is happy to receive submissions from others who have designed and built interesting and innovative pieces:
"I am writing to invite you to submit material for a new book that I am planning to publish in 2011.
This will be a high quality publication that features the work of up to 100 furniture designer/makers in Australia and New Zealand.
Submissions are due by October 1, 2010. Receipt will be acknowledged by email, and acceptance will be notified by December 31, 2010.
All details and guidelines are at Australian Wood Review - Competitions but feel free to contact me if you have any queries. I hope you'll consider being involved.
Best regards,
Linda Nathan
Please forward this email to anyone you think may be interested to submit material for the book.
PS: you may also be interested to know we've uploaded our online gallery of Studio Furniture 2010 entries, just click the competition icon on our home page at Australian Wood Review "
As far as I am aware, there will not be any financial recompense for submissions that are published, but, for those who make their living from furniture making, the book could provide useful publicity.

Not a bad idea Steve. I keep trying to contact Lark but my emails get returned and their contacts page never posts successfullly

I reckon one of the hardest things would be to get pictures of quality. I would also love to put a book together of the work of Forum Members, but that's a whole other ballgame.
