Forum has >20,000 Members
Ok it's quite a few over 20,000 and active members are a lot less, and perhaps I should have noticed a week ago (or when ever we hit 20,000), but I see it as another congratulations to the forums

The official number as at 11:30 pm 25th May 2008 was actually 25,162.
However we've deleted 5,085 spammers, pedlars, troublemakers, etc taking us back to the 20,077.
Currently we also have another 500+ members on file who have been banned. Mostly for trying to spam the forums with advertising, religious propaganda, and other unsavoury stuff. Plus a handful of antagonistic, slanderous, troublemakers.
Your admins and mods working quietly in the background to keep these forums free from garbage.
Another major cull could be coming up in the near future so don't be surprised if it drops below 20,000 again.

Curerently around 5,986 active members. No idea on how many contributors but an active members is anyone who has more than 1 post and has been logged on over the last 30 days. This does not necessarily mean they've posted anything.
We currently average around 45 new threads and 600 new posts per day. The worst day for posts in the past week was 542 posts and the best was 827. This does not include posts in Jokes, Drivel, Open Slather and a couple of other forums which do not count towards the stats or users posts.
The vast majority of visitors to the forums are either not members or members who don't log in and there are plenty who don't. For many people the forums are like a drug and they have to get their daily fix. According to many of the emails I received in the last couple of days there are a lot who visit every day but only log in to respond to posts etc.
