Forum BBQ SE Melb
Gday all
After enviously reading the reports of the Toowoomba get together up north, I reckon us Mehicans are due for a BBQ.
I'm offering our place in Pakenham for a Sunday BBQ lunch, how's Sunday 1st October suit?
I like the idea of the Sharpening topic getting a run, I have a 8" bench grinder, 1000 & 6000 waterstones, belt/disc sander (haven't built Derek's jig - yet ( ) and some flat concrete outside the shed for Luddites
Whaddya reckon, bring a few blades, mebbe your own take on sharpening if transportable & we can all compare notes.
I manage OK (slowly )but am not at all expert at the caper, surely one of you out there gets a heap of practice a la Matthew A / Toolin Around & could show us all a few things?
'Nother idea, maybe Lig or Auld could bring a Domi along & make us all green with a demo?
I can show off my new router planing jig , & maybe have the new bench underway by then...
Bring along some tools or projects for a bit of a show & tell. Wear yer cap
Ideas, suggestions, feedback - let's hear it!
Cheers................Sean
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

No probs, sounds good, what time?
I Know where you are and where not to park
I have some challenges if anyone is worried about buggering up good blades, some el cheapo chinese chisels that we have been using to pull nails out of the floor with (someone bought them for me, they are truly the worst excuse for a chisel I have ever seen, about $5 for a pack of 4).
Anyone thinks they can put an edge back on, go for itStupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.

Dam! I'll be in Melbourne that weekend, for my mothers 80th, but unfortunately hers is on the Sunday too.
I am thinking about making something for my lathe using my blue wheel, a timber wheel and a buffing wheel like Matthew demonstrated at Toowoomba. If I finish on time I'll do a post, just have to design a metal cover sheet to ensure no sparks get to any sawdust - don't want another fire .Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

Just to lower the tone, I'll put my foot in too.
Depending on transport... that's a bit of a problem at the mo.
